Voices
There are many things that separate humans from the rest of life on the planet. Most of these things are made real solely by the power of our minds. We are the most intelligent species to live and breathe, but in addition, we are the most collaborative. It isn’t our reasoning and our ability to dream that ultimately make us what we are — it’s the fact that we can do these things collectively. Together.
If I had to choose one thing we do that amazes me and moves me beyond all else, it would be singing. It’s a pure, raw form of expression, with no intermediary instrument needed for translation. It’s a line directly from one heart to another, an elevated form of speech that transcends language barriers and cultures.
And when we do it together, when we sing together ... it’s one of the most beautiful and uniquely human things in the world. All else falls away and nature holds its breath for us as it listens.
